2026 Great Backyard Bird Count in Tacony Creek Park

Lovebirds Bird Walk

The Great Backyard Bird Count is an international community science event where participants search for birds in their communities each year over Presidents Weekend.
This GBBC event is being conducted jointly by the Liberty Bird Alliance, Northeast Wildlife Trackers, and the Tookany/Tacony Frankford Watershed. We will start at the greenhouse on the Friends Hospital Campus (4641 Roosevelt Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19124).  Parking is free, and there are restrooms on site. We will have people meet at the greenhouse, have light refreshments and people can use the bathroom before the walk starts. There is a pond, forest and stream frontage, so a good diversity of habitat will be available to see birds!
Philly Tracking Club is loosely affiliated with the Northeast Wildlife Trackers. The tracking club offers free, volunteer-led, wildlife track and sign co-learning experiences open to the public, exploring different locations in the area, and creating opportunities to connect with nature. Please note that Wendi Wu with Northeast Wildlife Tackers will provide an introduction to tracking at 9:30 AM. All are welcome to participate. Directions: Friends Hospital Campus 4641 Roosevelt Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19124

This is a free event, but preregistration is necessary: Here is a link for RSVP:
